why SUMAHAMA?

shmahamaは正式には「須磨海岸」と呼ばれる地域です。
なぜ、sumahamaと呼ぶことにこだわっているのでしょうか?

その昔、地元神戸のラジオ局「ラジオ関西」は、須磨の海の見える場所にありました。
当時、ジングルとしてThe Beach Boysの「sumahama」という曲が使われ、毎日僕らの耳に入ってきました。

海を愛する者はもちろん、当時の若者にとって、The Beach Boysはアイドルです。
しかし、その当時から「これは本当に須磨のことを歌っているのか?」「砂浜を聞き間違えているのではないか？」との疑問があり、それは長い間謎に包まれたままでした。

しかし、やはり「Sumahama」は「須磨浜」であることが、明らかになったのです。

当クラブはThe Beach Boysと素晴らしい呼び名に敬意を表し、今のこの世にsumahamaを広めようとクラブ名に冠しているのです。
